Audiology Room – Watford Peace Children’s Centre

AGS designed, manufactured and constructed a custom paediatric audiology room at Peace Children’s Hospital. Working in tandem with the Silk Partnership building surveyors who were instrumental in other areas of the development. 

The audiology room was nationally recognised at the BBHCA. Nominated for Best Interior Design Project transforming the outdated paediatric audiology suite.

Consulting Rooms

Additional scope also included internal wall finishes, to 2no. Consultant Rooms and suspended ceilings and single leaf acoustic doors sets to the Consultants rooms and Observation room.

The ventilation into the consulting rooms, observation room and entrance lobby was provided by ceiling mounted cassette air conditioning units. External air conditioning condensers are located on the adjacent external wall.

Audiology Room

AGS tackled issues with the old room including layout, accessibility and acoustic control. The high specification soundproofing we provided has allowed for higher quality clinical assessments to take place.

Some key features included soft, dimmable lighting and carefully chosen tones and materials to avoid overstimulation of patients during testing, a common theme within AGS audiology rooms.

The in-house manufactured double acting audio door was polyester powder coated with acoustic seals.

A 1-way vision film applied to the audiology window served to reduce the chance of distraction from the observation during testing.

The electrical scope was also a standard

White PVC 3 part dado trunking to the perimeter of the room with a riser to the ceiling located adjacent to the door.
• A dado with 5no twin sockets
• Provision for 2no data sockets with the dado
• Supply and installation of recessed dimmable LED lighting with emergency fitting
• Provision of external power supplies for the air conditioning.

The panels, door and window were all installed by our in-house installation crews.
