Audiometric Booths in Ireland
Overview
AGS Noise Control recently installed two audiometric booths in Ireland; the team designed, supplied, delivered, and installed them directly. These booths were coloured a cool blue, with modern white powder-coated double-acting audiology doors.
The latest in a long line of Irish audiology projects AGS have delivered over the last few years. With extensive experience in the space and decades of Irish installs across sectors, AGS can deliver programmes cost-efficiently.

Construction & Installation
The audiology doors included a narrow Vision-lite acoustic window for light and observation into a test room. AGS’ acoustic doors also came complete with hardware such as push and kick plates, a pull handle and a bottom door stop. The internal faces of the panels were finished with a stretch fabric system that not only aids absorption within the room but also supports infection control. The electrical scope included dimmable lighting, which is often a critical addition to these rooms, as it can reduce patient stress and overstimulation for those with certain conditions. These lights were recessed into a fully suspended acoustic ceiling with white tiles dropped into a ceiling grid. This mirrored the existing ceiling height in external spaces such as the corridor outside the rooms and auxiliary rooms. Further, within the ceiling void, we installed the ventilation package, including silenced attenuators that help the room maintain its acoustic performance while ensuring sufficient fresh air is supplied to the rooms each hour.
The doors were installed flush with the existing walls, with a short lobby area between two doors of one room; a short ramp ensured wheelchair access to the audiology room. This helped achieve a polished look from the vinyl flooring in the corridor to the floating floor within the booth itself. This floating floor was finished with industrial-grade, blue carpet tiles. AGS also supplied the patch plates required for VRA testing through to the observation room. Housed within the electrical dado that flanks the centre of the wall panels, the dado allows maximum reconfigurability, including moving and adding plug sockets.
As with almost all paediatric booths, we manufactured the observation window into the control room in the Midlands, complete in frame and powder-coated to match the booth’s internal fabric. This supported the booth’s calming, clean aesthetic.
Our directly employed team handled the site installation, and their commitment to precise, efficient work allowed us to install the booths on an extremely short timescale without compromising quality.
