Isolamin Steel Acoustic Panels, 33 to 70dB Rw

Overview

AGS Noise Control supply Isolamin steel acoustic panels thanks to a long standing partnership, leading to AGS being the exclusive supplier for the entire UK.

These lab tested panels are typically formed from a smooth steel outer face, a dense mineral wool core and a perforated steel interior face. These perforated metal panels are excellent acoustic absorbers, rated as 'Class A absorption'.

Panel Code Explained!

The PA segment signifies that the type of product is a panel

The first number denotes the finish, 33 is the standard whereas 39 panels have a 1mm steel skin

The CL part dictates the orientation of the panels whether horizontal (P) or vertical (CL). (CES panels are fire-rated)

The second number, often 50, 80 or 100, relates to the thickness (mm) of the panel

Finally, a final P, represents a perforated interior face for absorption

Acoustic Absorption

The inner steel face of the panels can be perforated, this gives the panels a 'Class A' absorption rating. Absorption coefficient data is available upon request. Typically we utilise the perforated version of the panels in our industrial acoustic enclosures which helps to reduce reverberation time and improve acoustic comfort within. Similarly we will use perforated panels for acoustic barriers, such as road or plant screens. This reduces the effect of sound reflecting off the barrier and returning in the direction of the noise sources. It is an extremely powerful tool to use in a number of applications, especially when an acoustic consultant specifies a noise barrier which requires an absorbent interior lining.

ISO Panels History

AGS Noise Control are the sole supplier of Isolamin acoustic panels in the UK, the partnership strengthens connections between the European and UK acoustic market.

Both companies have over 50 years in the space, with Isolamin, based in Sweden, one of Europe’s key acoustic panel suppliers.

The prefabricated, non-combustible acoustic panels have excellent noise reduction and attenuation. The ‘sandwich-like’ composition have a core of transverse mineral wool attached to two hot-dip galvanized steels sheet. These surface steel sheets can be smooth or perforated. The perforated interior face gives the panels a rating of Class A absorption, the highest achievable whilst also providing safe fire protection.

Installation Flexibility & Efficiency

Assembly instructions, drawings and other documents can all be provided if required and constant support is always available from our team.

We also understand that every job is different, that’s why panels can be cut on site to allow flexible solutions. Furthermore, the installation time is normally shortened to one fifth of a site-build standard wall! Reducing labour costs and construction programme.

All fittings for required for assembly of the system are included within the order.

One of the best features of the panels is there ability to be easily removed and readily demountable if access is required. For example, large scale acoustic walls to power plants, exhaust stack and other machinery in which access is required by large vehicles to properly service and maintain the area.

Horizontal or vertical panel installation, as well as free standing panels seamlessly integrating with a steel support platform to avoid the need for roof penetrations.

The size of the project’s only limit is the need of the customer with no project too big. Get in touch today for a rapid quote!

Plant Decks

AGS' design engineers have mastered a retaining detail which allows AGS to directly fix Isolamin's acoustic panels to the vertical and horizontal steel work on a plant deck. This gives us the ability to construct rooftop acoustic screens for plant without penetrating the membrane of the roof. We can fix internally or externally to the steelwork, have our panels horizontally or vertically oriented, and as previously mentioned polyester powder coat (PPC) the faces of the steel panels to hundreds of RAL colours.

Proven excellence and futureproofed

For decades the panel has proved it’s suitability in various environments, performing as industrial offices and noise havens within factories. Complete cleanroom solutions for electronics, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, food production applications.  AGS have experience installing and uninstalling these panels making them ideal for modular builds.

Isolamin external noise barriers have been tested for use outdoors with results showing after 15 years, the panels were completely intact with a reduction in strength of about 15%.

Corrosion and fire resistance

Arguably the greatest trait of the panels is their corrosion resistance, with absolutely no welds to hold the panels together this means that the risk of rust propagation points is significantly diminished. The panels consist of 2 steel sheets bonded to a high-strength transversely positioned mineral wool. Resulting in an exceptionally strong sandwich element with high sound reduction. This system has been tried and tested for almost 50 years.

A glued mineral wool core and surface protection renders the component non-flammable and available in a variety of fire classes depending on the thicknesses.

Structural strength

Thanks to the special bonding detail and dense mineral wool infill, the tractive force required to extract a self drilling screw (Teks B 8 1.2") is approx. 100kp. With the surface layer providing excellent resistance to indentation.

Cleanrooms

A hygiene wall, utilised in the food production industry mainly, as a cold store or freezing chamber elevation. Where the requirements for hygiene and flush walls are extremely high. The floor joints are watertight and walls surfaces are PVC covered metal.

In fields such as;

  • Electronics
  • Pharmaceuticals
  • Biotechnology
  • Chemistry

where a high level of cleanliness is required, a controlled environment without the infiltration of air pollutants is essential.

When planning a clean room there are several considerations that must be thought about through from initial design to ongoing maintenance and lifespan. The factors that can affect this include

  • Specific manufacturing processes
  • Installation method and restrictions
  • Clean zone availability
  • Work being carried out in the room
  • Inspection and maintenance routines
  • Cleaning routines
  • Clean room operators (clothing/routines etc)

For a comprehensive clean room solution with doors, windows, ceiling and building profiles. Giving a completely smooth finish with 'flush' no dust-accumulating edges.
