Acoustic Louvres
Acoustic louvres reduce noise from plant and equipment while allowing the airflow those systems need to operate. AGS designs, manufactures and installs acoustic louvres across the UK and Europe, from single plant screens to full compound and facade systems, with each louvre specified to the airflow and attenuation a site requires. Manufactured in our own factory and fitted by our directly employed installation teams, AGS acoustic louvres are supplied for data centre, decarbonisation, HVAC and generator applications where noise must be controlled without restricting ventilation.
The AGS acoustic louvre range
AGS acoustic louvres are available in a range of blade depths and configurations to suit the attenuation level each project requires. Standard depths are 150mm, 300mm and 600mm, with chevron blade configurations available and a wide range of sound transmission losses across the range. As a general principle, the greater the blade depth, the higher the attenuation, so the specification matches the noise reduction and airflow needed on site rather than being fixed to a single product.
Acoustic louvre construction and materials
Each AGS acoustic louvre is built from a Zintec steel blade with acoustically absorbent mineral wool infill and a perforated steel face, providing durable, long-lasting construction. Blades are polyester powder-coated to any standard RAL shade to meet the appearance requirements of the building or compound. We manufacture louvres in our own factory using laser cutting and CNC folding equipment, and AGS's directly employed site teams install them, keeping design, manufacture, and installation under one roof.
Acoustic louvre performance and testing
AGS acoustic louvres are supported by independent laboratory sound reduction testing, so the attenuation quoted for a project can be evidenced rather than estimated. Performance is specified as sound reduction across frequency bands, and AGS matches the blade depth and configuration to the target noise level for each site while maintaining the required ventilation airflow. Where planning conditions or a noise assessment set a defined limit, the louvre is specified to meet it.
Acoustic louvre doors, screens and enclosures
Beyond fixed louvre panels, AGS supplies acoustic louvres as free-standing screens, as part of full plant enclosures, and as single leaf or double leaf acoustic louvre doors where access to the equipment is needed. Vermin and bird mesh and supporting structural steelwork can be included, so AGS can provide a complete package covering the louvres, the surrounding structure and the installation for the whole compound.

Acoustic louvre applications
Acoustic louvres suit any situation that combines noise-generating plant with a ventilation requirement. AGS designs and installs acoustic louvres for two sectors in particular:
Data centres. Data centres rely on large volumes of plant for cooling, air movement and standby power generation, all of which generate noise while demanding high cooling airflows. AGS can assist with plant compound design from the early stages of a project, covering the acoustic mitigation package alongside the site's aesthetic requirements.
Decarbonisation projects (ASHP, WSHP, AHU and chillers). AGS has designed, manufactured and installed acoustic louvre screens and enclosures for Air Source Heat Pumps (ASHPs), Water Source Heat Pumps (WSHPs), Air Handling Units (AHUs) and chillers and condensers at hotels, leisure centres, public buildings, hospitals and universities across the UK. These projects need proven noise reduction while maintaining the large ventilation airflows the equipment requires.
