The Problem

A recently constructed Children’s Health Centre included a room, intended to be used for
paediatric audiology. However, the original room, not designed for this work did not provide sufficient
noise attenuation. With foot fall, external environmental disturbance and internal structure borne noise all contributing to excess noise levels within the room.

The Solution

AGS Noise Control supplied and installed a purpose room within a room solution comprising heavy medical grade acoustic panels to walls and roof, new stretch fabric finish to the walls, new structurally isolating floating floor, new acoustic access door and new one-way observation window. As part of the works AGS also stripped out the existing lighting, power, data suspended ceilings and floor finishes and re-installed into the new room.

Post installation testing of the completed room showed the new paediatric Audiology facility achieved the
required ambient noise levels detailed in HTM 2045 standard.
